Tax Deduction Benefits
As a recognized 508(c)(1)(A) nonprofit, your donation qualifies for a charitable tax deduction under IRS guidelines:
- If your boat sells for more than $500, you can claim a deduction for the full sale price.
- If your boat sells for less than $500, you may deduct the fair market value up to $500.
- For boats valued over $5,000, IRS Form 8283, Section B will be required.
